Certified growing locations must complete soil testing every 3 years to verify clean growing conditions. Soil samples are tested for heavy metals and other contaminants to ensure the land is suitable for producing safe, high-quality moringa products. New Members are encouraged to get their soil tested as soon as possible.
Every year, moringa powder from each certified supplier location is tested to verify food-grade quality standards. These tests help ensure the powder is clean, properly processed, and safe for customer consumption. This Nutritional Food Grade Analysis tests for Heavy Metals, Mold, Bacteria and E.Coli.
Heavy metal testing checks for contaminants such as lead, arsenic, mercury, and cadmium in the soil. Since moringa naturally absorbs nutrients from the soil, testing helps verify that growing conditions remain within safe limits. The soil test consists of sending a bag of your soil to the laboratory.
Certified moringa powder is also screened for mold, yeast, and harmful bacteria that can develop from improper drying or storage conditions. Proper harvesting, washing, drying, and packaging methods help reduce contamination risks.
Testing is performed to check for E. coli and other foodborne pathogens that could make products unsafe. This is an important part of maintaining food-grade handling standards for moringa products sold through the Grow Moringa Collective.
Certified Members must maintain updated testing, inspections, and certification requirements to remain approved suppliers. Soil testing is renewed every 3 years, while product testing and certification reviews are updated annually to maintain active Certified Member status.
